Dear Valued Customers,
After 47 years running Newman & Holmes, it is time for a break.
I have agreed to sell my paint and inside glass business to Aubuchon Hardware. Our last day of operation will be May 19th, 2017.
Our glass business will continues to operate at Aubuchon's Broadway location in Saranac Lake. They will provide a drop-off window, like what you do today when you have some glass work that you bring to us.
Unfortunately, Aubuchon will not be selling Pittsburgh Paints. Aubuchon is a certified retailer for Benjamin Moore and will continue to have a wide variety of supplies available for your next project.
Thank you for your support over the years. It has been quite a run since my father Verdo started the business in 1934. After his death, my mother Alice courageously ran the store until I took over in 1970. While this is certainly bittersweet, I am happy it is not the end. I am proud that Newman & Holmes will continue on as part of another family-run business with a long history of success, such as Aubuchon.
I consider many of you my friends and have always appreciated the laughs and stories we have shared over the years. Lynn and I will continue to live in town, so I am sure I will see you around and hear even more stories. You all know that I am not one to sit around on my hands and do nothing. We plan to work on some projects that never got off the “to-do” list and remain involved in the community. Hopefully, we will get to spend some extra time relaxing, as well.
With sincere appreciation,
Wayne
